This week on Writers Unbound, To and From the Middle East. In the 1980s, during the Lebanese Civil War, Dimitri Nasrallah’s family left Beirut and emigrated to Canada. At about the same time, Tanya Bellehumeur-Allatt moved with her family from Canada’s Northwest Territories to Lebanon, where her father was a UN Peacekeeper. Presented by the Association of English-language Publishers of Quebec, Writers Unbound is a series highlighting the best of Montreal’s local literary community. Developed in partnership with the Quebec Writers’ Federation, the show pairs two writers in conversation with host Shelley Pomerance, inviting them to reflect on their work and on what inspires them.
