Opera productions are elaborate and require expertise in a variety of classical art forms, including orchestral music, theatre, and of course, singing! It is recognized as one of the most multifaceted forms of art. For the last 400 years, this performing art has progressed in our Western culture and still holds its value in our society today. One thing is certain, the singers’ powerful presence and outstanding voices are at the heart of it all and haven’t ceased to impress audiences. We meet professional opera singer Sasha Djihanian who has sung all around the world. We talk to Patrick Corrigan, General Director of one of the most famous opera houses in Canada, Opéra de Montréal, and finally, Max Van Wyck, our opera expert who describes the art form itself.
